The bridge provides an approach to the temple. The temple tank is 541 ft X 432 ft and 20 ft deep, which according to government records was built here in 16th century. The foundation stone of Shri Durgiana Temple was laid by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in 1924 on the day of Ganga Dashami (Dussehra). The temple existed before it was rebuilt in 1921. It was confirmed by the record of Amritsar municipality gazette of 1893 which tells about the Durgiana Sarover and the Devi Dwara surrounding it which was thronged by Hindu pilgrims.
